Pogo Stick

Simple Harmonic Motion can be done with a wired sensor, but for a pogo stick a wireless sensor is definitely preferred! You can see in this graph the periods of free-fall, where the acceleration is roughly -9.8 m/s, and the times in contact with the ground, where the acceleration can exceed 2 g’s. There’s a lot of waving around in the data, since the rider is moving the pogo stick to keep it under him during the “flights”. There are also some ringing spikes in the data when the pogo piston first hits the ground and later when it hits the end-stop on full extension.
