Build a Capacitor
A capacitor consists of two conductors separated by an insulating material. In this experiment, you'll build your own capacitor by coating a pre-determined area of both sides of a mylar sheet with aluminum. You will then measure the capacitance and compare the result with your expected value.
Before beginning your lab, you should have decided what area to coat, how thick to coat it, and what would be your expected value of C. You should also answer the pre-lab questions in the Caltech Vacuum lab handout.
This is an entirely new lab and has not been done at CSUC yet.
