Spin Changes the Direction
of a Swinging Bunt

This ball is hit off the end of the bat creating a crazy amount of spin. The resulting difference between the frictional force exerted on one side of the ball by the grass and the frictional force on the other cause this amazing motion. So, spin not only affects the flight of a ball, but its interaction with the ground as well.
